...Electric Boogalo. I keeeeeed!

Ok, this is going to be short because 1) I'm still processing everything and 2) I should probably go to bed and get at least a couple hours' worth of sleep before I go to work in the morning. Anywhoo, all I can say is WOW, was this episode packed with stuff! I did not read any spoilers because I wanted to be surprised, but a lot of the information that I did read wasn't all that accurate so my expectations were just a bit higher than should have been. Don't get me wrong, I thoroughly enjoyed this episode, minus the fact that Jin seemingly died in the freighter explosion (getting a DUI as an actor on this show is a death sentence, people. Listen and learn!), Keamy's death-by-Ben was a little lackluster IMO, and Locke in the box was a total surprise to me, except right at the reveal when I guessed who it was by the way they were all talking about him. But that's ok, I'm glad it wasn't Michael like everyone was led to believe since last year's ComiCon.

So, what's the deal with all the aliases on the show? Wasn't that dude on the tape Marvin Candle? Why did he go by a different name in the 6th video? Did he think that people would have forgotten who he was between videos 1-6? Or am I the one who's crazy because it's a different dude altogether? The mind boggles. And why-o-why do those tapes malfunction just as the important information is about to be revealed? Ugh!

Also, I skimmed the boards earlier and may try to get through all 21 (for now) pages before I turn in (yea right), but people are saying that Charlotte and Annie are the same person. How is that possible when Charlotte seems a lot younger than Ben and didn't Ben already see Charlotte when she first landed? Or, again, am I hallucinating? (Don't answer!)

At any rate, we get that the 3 original Losties who died are 1) Jin 2) Michael and 3) Locke. We still don't know if Claire is alive or dead (I'm voting dead). And, maybe I missed something really important, but why do they all need to get back on the island? See, I told y'all my mind's still reeling from processing everything. I will continue this later...

And, how awesome has Frank turned out to be?! I mean, he has really put his neck on the line trying to help the Losties. Keamy and Co. better leave him alone! Sayid leaves the freighter to go back to the island while Desmond stays behind. Oh, and Michael is still there getting beat to a pulp. Poor Michael. Man can't get a break. What I don't understand is how Sayid is going to find the island when everyone and their uncle seems to have a hard time doing so. And, on a tiny boat. Just when we almost had a Jack-free show, he had to find the pack with the phone in it that Frank threw out of the helicopter. And, of course, Jack is going to try to do something "heroic" and lead everyone into danger. Again. Or whatever.

So, how creepy was it that it was confirmed that Richard Does. Not. Age. Aaack! They need to do some 'splainin about that one. Yea, it's been speculated that he was part of the original crew of the Black Rock, along with possibly Widmore, but with this show...who knows! Speaking of which, I totally thought Horace was Jacob because their profiles looked similar. So, Christian and Jacob are in cahoots, and now they've got Claire all stoned and happy. I guess it didn't strike Locke as strange that Christian and Jacob said the only way to save the island was to move it. Yea, with this show and the shenanigans that have been going on...that makes perfect sense.

Next week is part one of a two-part season ender. I'm kind of sad to see this season end and angry that we got gyped out of several episodes due to that writers' strike. The writers were on a radio show last week and said there were only about 36 episodes left in the series. As much as I'd like some more answers to many of the dropped plots on this show...I really don't want to see it end so quickly. I mean, there's so much dreck that lasted much longer it's really a shame this is ending so soon. But, I guess with all the outlandish storylines going on, it would be difficult to suspend belief for much longer. In the meantime, I'm totally this show's biatch.

I obviously didn't forget the show was coming back on, as evidenced by the last post below. However, in my eager anticipation...I fell asleep on Thursday between 9:50 and 11:10 pm. (Insert waa-waa-waa-waaa music here.) However, on Friday, some of my fellow Lostie co-workers and I had a lunch hour viewing so I'm caught up, but not before I jumped online and read all the boards. (I was going to wait and remained unspoiled but that intent lasted a good 4 minutes.)

So much happened in this episode I almost don't know where to begin. I feel like I need to watch it a second (and possibly third) time in order to get my head around it, but here goes. First of all...poor Alex. Ben used her as a pawn and with all his plans and schemes, this fatally backfired on him. Loved how he (seemingly) sic'd Smokey on the freighter assassins. Who knew there was another secret door behind the secret door that lead to the closet? And why did he emerge all sooty? Smokey was all kinds of awesome, though.

Then there's the teleportation/time travel aspect which, as much as I understand the need for the show, I'm really not thrilled about. I suppose there's no other way to explain how Benry gets his info and his millions (though that detail still needs to be revealed). In a FF, he ends up in the desert and meets up with Sayid who eventually did find Nadia and marry her just to end up getting murdered in LA. Then there's the whole Widmore feud. When he snuck up to Widmore's penthouse, I was practically going BOOM-CHIK-A-BOW-BOW! Wow, was there a lot of implied other-relationship there, or what? "Since when did you sleep with a bottle of [whisky or whatever] by your bed?" Really, Benry? Since when did you know what sort of items are on Chuckie's nightstand? BOOM-CHIK-A-BOW-BOW...

So, it's on with Benjamin and Charles. Benry is going after Penny and Chuckles is going after the island and both swore the other will never find their target. Verrrrrry interesting. Many people think that it's absolutely sacrilige for anyone to even entertain the thought of killing dear Penelope. I don't care so much for her, but what it would do to poor Desmond. I'm not worried, because by the end of the season, there'll be another crisis to ponder.

Of course, I'd be remiss to not acknowledge the awesomeness that is Sawyer and how he's all protective of Hugo and Claire (and of course, her baybee). Threatening to unleash harm to Benry (or was it Locke?) if they as much touch his curly head. Too cute. And loved that Bernard called Daniel out on his morse code B.S. Team Jack needs to hog-tie the freighties and prevent them from doing any further damage.

Unfortunately, I missed the "...next time on Lost..." previews so I don't know quite what to expect next week. I'm sure I'll think of more once I watch the episode again. What I need to do is watch it on Thursday and then again on Friday. This will be my goal this week. Oh, and I still don't believe that Rousseau's dead.

Another much-anticipated show of the season. After last week's woeful misdiagnosis (on my part) of the Sun/Jin FF/FB one-two-punch, I was careful to watch this episode without any distractions AND with the glasses on. What a novel idea, I know. With so much talk about "we're going to find out who else is going to die" and "the rundown of the official O6" the hype was almost too much to bear. Almost.

The show started off with a longer-than-usual recap of Michael and what his deal was before HP left the show and came back again. On the freighter, after lying his way to the engine room where the deckhands seem to double as engineers, and with Desmond in tow (MMMMmmm Desmond!), Sayid calls "Kevin Johnson" out on his b.s. and coerces him to tell him the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth regarding what he's doing there and why he's under an alias. Michael sends the other random freighter dude on a wild goose chase (ok, not so much, but he must not be very bright being gone for so long) and Sayid proceeds to inflict bodily harm upon Michael unless he 'fesses up. Up on deck, there was some scuffle with some of the crew wanting to take an inflatable raft and go on an excursion. The captain thought it was not such a good idea and roughs up the perpetrators in reprimand. Michael's reason for being there, "I'm here to die." Dun DUn DUNNNNN!

Meanwhile, back at Camp Locke, Benry, Miles and the gang are all playing Scrabble and eating pound cake. Ok, maybe not so much playing Scrabble, but they're all together in a room while Locke explains to the "good" losties that the "bad" likes of Benry and Miles are there because they have a plan and Michael is Ben's MotB and they're really "good" guys. The losties are like, "WHA?" And Locke is like, "Yea," and Sawyer is all, "GRR!" and Hurley's all, "Duude," and Ben is all, "they're baaaaad" and Miles is all, "Ben's giving me a zillion dollars, beeyotches!" I wonder what ever happened to that grenade Locke was making Miles eat.

Since the title of this episode is a giveaway that it's going to be all about Michael, we get right to his flashback. Or flashforward. Whatever. Turns out, Walt has condemned him for killing Libby and AnaLucia (applause from me) and no longer wants anything to do with him. Smooth move, Michael. Some example you're setting for your 10-year-old. So, now that Michael seemingly has nothing to live for, he wants to off himself. In a series of botched suicide attempts, I got a Wyle E. Coyote feeling about the whole thing. It's tragic he's feeling so desperate, yet, it's so funny that nothing takes. Just after he sells his watch (that Jin gave you, you dawg) to a pawn shop in exchange for a gun and bullets (way to go, pawnshop owner! Guess you're not liable if no one can rat you out.), and goes into an alley to try to off himself yet again, we hear a friendly voice just in the nick of time. And, it's our very own Mr. Friendly, Tom!

I don't think it came as a surprise to anyone to see "dead" Tom off the island, alive, in New York...on Saturday Night...! Nah, par for the course for Lost. He tells Michael that the island won't let him die and he has a job for him. After the zillionth attempt at trying to off himself and not succeeding, and seeing the fake-discovery of the fake Flight 815 on the news, he visits Tom in his swanky penthouse suite (and gets introduced to Tom's squeeze, Arturo, the little scamp!). Tom explains the staged find and gives Michael his assignment - to kill everyone on board. This, my friends, is how Michael ends up on the freighter.

After explaining this to Sayid and Desmond, Sayid gets a bug up his butt about ratting him out, takes him to the captain and does just that. The captain looks at them as if to say, "yea, so?" but doesn't say anything. Hmm, could he already know? Will his next word actually be, "Duh!?" But we're not going to find out until sometime next-freakin'-month! Mutha-effers!!

Meanwhile, back at Camp Locke, Benry freaks at seeing Karl with his arm around Alex's waist and sends them (Karl, Alex and Danielle) into a trap back at the Temple under the premise that it's "safer" there. Don't you guys have Benry figured out by now? Nothing he says is true. Well...99% of what he says is likely to be untrue. Whatever. The "death" hype came to be when Karl got...shot? I don't know what they were being hit with...I thought it was a pea shooter...or a spear shooter, but the wounds looked like bullet holes. Someone's got guns with silencers! Another innovative Dharma-brand product! So Karl gets it and we're like, "wow, that wasn't anything" but then ROUSSEAU gets it, and we're all OMG - NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I swear, if TIIC killed her off without giving us the FB they promised us, there will be one angy mob knocking their doors down! I'm in the camp (heh!) that is hoping that Danielle isn't really dead, ala Locke when Ben shot him in-the- place-where-the-kidney-was-supposed-to-be-and-therefore-really-isn't-dead kind of way. Unfortunately, the next episode won't be shown for another 5 freakin' weeks, and when it does come back, it'll be at the ungodly hour of 10:00 pm! OY! Damn the writers' strike! I want my show!!! Oh, and I think it's lame how Aaron is one of the O6. Laaaaaaame! [/Cartman]

Ok, this was a tough one...where to start...

We finally get to meet Regina. After all the hype, the poor actress only got a couple scenes and offs herself. Well, alrighty then. I liked the fact she was "reading" her book upside down. I think she was suffering from more than cabin fever but we may never know. Or at least find out until season 6. Oh, we also get to meet the captain, finally. He's one cold SOB isn't he? Good thing Sayid and Desmond that that "warning" note. Well, if you work for Widmore I guess that comes with the territory. Too bad Frank & company can't pull a mutiny and take over. Ah, what the heck, most of the crew are probably short a few fries of a happy meal as well. So much for the rescue operation. Oh yea, by the way, it's not...

Meanwhile, back on the beach, Sun and Jin are basking in the glory of upcoming parenthood. And, we all know in TV Land, this means things ain't exactly going to be a walk in the park. Cute how they're letting DDK speak more lines in English. Wish I could pick up a foreign language that quickly. Suddenly Sun gets a bug up her butt about leaving the beachies aka Team Jack to join the bungalows in Team Locke's neighborhood. I guess she has a good reason not to trust the new freighties who have been acting nothing but sketchy since they arrived. Plus that Beeyotch Juliet who can't be trusted any further than she could be thrown. Oy! And when she blabed to Jin about the affair Sun had...I repeatedly yelled at the TV "Oh no you di'int!!!!" I wanted to reach through and smack that perma-smirk off Juliet's face myself. Couldn't she pick a less tacky way to prevent them from going to camp Locke? Guess not.

One thing we know is that Sun and Jin do get off the island. We get a FF of Sun and the birth of her baby. At first, I was worried that Jin didn't make it off the island because he wasn't in the FFs, but when they showed him shopping for a cute panda, all felt right with the world. Poor Jin in a comedy of errors couldn't get his taxi, panda and call together and ends up losing the panda, the cell phone and the taxi. Wa. Wa. Wa. Waaa. Then he goes back to the toy store to get another panda (man, they're expensive !!) but the owner doesn't have any and the last one is on hold. First of all, who puts a stuffed animal on hold, and prepays for it? I dunno...it's not like it was a Cabbage Patch doll or Tickle Me Elmo or anything. Ah well. Jin pays through the nose for it and the store owner lets him have it.

Meanwhile, back on the freighter, we get the REVEAL WE'VE ALL BEEN WAITING FOR...who IS Benry's MotB...?

Could it be...?

Is it someone we know...?

It's...it's...it's....

....Michael.

Surprise! Except not so much.

Dear Writers/Producers/IIC, if you're going to do this sort of "reveal" you might wait to put the actor's name in the credits later on...otherwise, it's not much of a surprise. Thanks loads. Love, Maraschino.

Back in the future, Sun goes into heavy labor. Wow, does that bring back memories. So, if she's calling out for Jin and asking the doctors to hurry and get him, we all assume he's on his way to see her with giant stuffed expensive Panda. Yay, she has the baby. It's the girl Jin wanted and named back on Craphole Island. Meanwhile, we see Jin rushing through the hospital carrying the panda anxiously ready to give it to Sun...except, he must first get through the guard. Huh?

Ok, this is when things get fuzzy for me. And, no, I hadn't been drinking (though in retrospect, maybe I should have).

We are shown that Sun's room is "guarded" by someone hired by her father. Jin presents the panda as a present from his employer to Mr. Paik's grandchild. However, the guard tells Jin the baby is a boy. So, maybe it's not the same room as Sun is in. However, we see Jin peering inside and he gets a glimpse of Sun and the baby. Yea, it's "our" Sun and the baby she just had. So...huh? And why isn't he in there with them?

Instead, he leaves and goes on his merry way. As he walks out, a nurse asked him why he's leaving so soon and he said it wasn't his baby and that he's only been married for two months. HUH?!?!?!?!

So, fast foward a week or so Sun is out of the hospital and gets a visit from none other than pre-crazy (post-crazy) Hurley. For just a split second I was thinking...nah...fegidaboudit. Then I thought, maybe one of them has amnesia. Thankfully, Hurley mentioned Jin, and yes he and Sun were going to "see" him. Yay..? However, this is when I swear I heard Twilight Zone theme music playing in my head, but Sun and Hurley went to see Jin at the cemetary. Wha?! Sun is crying like Jin is gone gone gone and it's quite the sad, somber, depressing moment. Amidst my confusion. I was hoping for a "psych!" ending, but it didn't happen. We are to assume Jin is dead.

But...didn't we just see him??? What gives, Lost?!

Ok, here's my theory: Sun's dad was never a fan of Jin's. I think when they got back to civilization, he and Sun created a cover story that Jin did not survive the crash so as to not incur the wrath of Sun's dad. Because he's not really dead, he has assumed another identity and "married" someone else. It's all an act. Much like Kate's. Except more complicated. And emotionally draining.

I'm sure I'll think of more theories later...but this is what I need to believe for now.

I almost want to finish this title with...Confusion. As much as everybody loved this episode, it left me feeling quite unsatisfied. Don't get me wrong, I lurves me some Desmond (Rowr!), and I even went "awww..." over the final telephone scene, but still...I didn't think it was the best episode evah.

For one, I was disappointed in the whole "time travel" bit. Yea, I know Desmond's FBs have been all about the TT, but it left me feeling like the writers took an easy out by going sci-fi on us. Nevertheless, this is my beloved Lost and I'll stick with it through thick & thin, sickness and in health, for richer, for poorer...

How many times does Harold Perrineau's name need to be in the credits before we actually see him in a scene? Same goes for the kid who plays Walt and the woman who plays Regina (?). Speaking of which, I didn't see a woman on the freighter and I have a feeling there are a lot more people that teeny freighter are hiding. And at least one is a friend of the Losties, and one is a friend of Ben's. Could be one-in-the-same, but we'll see. Creepy what happened to Minkowski...I had grown to like him and they kill him off. Damn you, Lost writers!

I totally forgot all about Mr. Widmore until someone mentioned his name. I was wondering why they kept showing that pasty old man. Who knew he'd be a bigger germphobe than me. (Now it's got me thinking twice about touching those bathroom sinks -- yuk!) Next think you know I'll be wearing empty tissue boxes on my feet and growing a beard. And what's the deal with Penny? Fickle much? First she wants nothing to do with poor Des, then she agrees to accept his call in the future, then when he finally does call in the future, she acts as if she's been waiting for him all her life. WTF?!

Ugh, my head hurts again. Lurves me some HIC, and I hope he gets an Emmy nod this year. Thank God they didn't kill him off or I would have never forgiven the writers. Maybe seeing next week's "enhanced" version will make things clearer for me. Or not.

At any rate, I hope next week brings back the excitement because I hardly yelled at my TV tonight. Tonight's yell rating = 1 megaphone.

Heh.

Heh, when I told my co-workers the title of this evening's episode, they looked at me like I was crazy. Then I had to clarify by saying you know, it's right next to Funkytown. Everyone got it. (Or, maybe they were just humoring me.) Onto the show...

I was going to be a huge nerd and take notes throughout the show so that I wouldn't miss anything, but I forgot. So now, not only am I a big nerd, I'm a big, forgetful loser nerd. Nevertheless, tonight's show, though good, wasn't as "pow" as last week's. I dare say, it may have even been predictable at times, but I still liked it (well, except for the Kate and Sawyer romp, but I see how that was a necessary evil now). But the hawtness that is Sawyer is just another present just for me-thank you Lost! We got the answer to why Kate isn't in jail during Jack's FF in S3, but - true to Lost form - for every answer, we get 50 new questions. Poor Desmond and Sayid...I wonder if they'll survive the trek to the freighter. And I don't care what those yayhoos say, I don't trust the Boaties (except for Daniel, I trust him just a little only because he's squirrely!). I knew the 'copter wouldn't have smooth sailing so-to-speak to the freighter, but it still worried me that they did not contact the Beachies by nightfall. Boy, am I gullible.

Meanwhile, the folks back at Otherton (or Eggtown, now that Locke has taken over), are enjoying their Dharma-brand "normal" living. I, for one, would think that they'd be more careful about the food, especially after not having some "real" food in awhile. For example, why did Locke waste the last 2 eggs on Benry, ESPECIALLY since Benry didn't eat them and Locke ended up throwing them against the wall? Granted, he probably didn't count on them going to waste, but I'm stuck on the fact that he didn't 1) save them for himself or 2) make them into an omelette for the community to partake. The crazy $#!^ I think about.

Then stupid Kate has a bug up her butt about talking to Miles. I think they've been under that island sun too long, but the Losties suuuuuuuuuck at interrogation. Except for Locke - now that he's grown a pair (heh), he's asking some good questions. True to form, stupid Kate botches her plan to get anything out of Miles...well, anything of importance to the rest of the world. Instead of asking him what he knows about Benry, she asked him what he knows about her. Wake up, Kate, it's not always about you! Oh looky, Kate gets more FF stuff. Bla bla bla bla bla trial. Bla bla bla bla mother. Bla bla bla bla Jack. Bla bla bla 1 minute overtime...bla bla bla baby...bla bla bla AARON?!?! BAM!

Ok, I can't say I wasn't spoiled as to the possibility that Claire wasn't going to make it off the island and back to the real world, but it still struck me as sad. The way Kate seemed all clingy to "him" was kind of creepy. And, I guess Jack finally got word that Aaron was his nephew (or did he?), but he didn't feel ready to see the baby. WTF, Jack?!

Oh, and was it just me who thought the cab driver was going to be someone dubious like Benry? Heh, I knew they wouldn't do that to me 2 weeks in a row. But still...

Ah, I still love this show. And I'm going to be sad, but hopefully relieved when it's all over. I'm still working on disk 2 of the S1 set. I started rewatching and it's been nothing but fascinating. I just hope the series ender won't be woefully disappointing. And I need to stop reading the spoilers. Oh, and I want a Vincent FF because I want to know whether or not he's really the brains behind the whole operation, because if he was, that would be AWESOME.

Now I get to catch up on 100+ pages on the boards...
